Types of scientific forums

Scientific forum activities themselves can be an exercise for teachers to hone skills in presenting papers. It is recommended that this scientific FORUM PROFILE become a regular school agenda so that teachers at the school can share experiences and knowledge with fellow teachers of other subjects. To the wider community, scientific FORUM PROFILE are usually attended by various professions, not only by school principals, teachers, supervisors, but also by lecturers, and other education practitioners, both instructors and other observers of the world of education. The more diverse the participants in the scientific forum, the richer the content of the discussion will be. There are several types and types of scientific forum, including the following:

1. Symposium

The symposium is a series of short speeches in front of visitors who have FORUM PROFILE. Usually this symposium features several speakers and generally they participate in expressing their views according to the topics discussed with different ideas. It is also possible to divide a problem topic into several aspects. Then each aspect is highlighted in a special and separate way, without requiring different points of view.

Listeners in the symposium will be given the opportunity to ask their opinions or questions after the disputants and main discussants have finished speaking. 2. Seminar

Seminars are discussions of scientific problems, although the topics usually discussed are problems or problems that occur on a daily basis. The purpose of discussing the problem is to find a solution, therefore seminars should always end with conclusions as a result of a common opinion, and sometimes followed by recommendations or resolutions. The discussion contained in the seminar generally comes from working papers that have been prepared by several previous speakers according to the discussion ideas that have been requested by the organizing committee.

3. Workshop

A workshop is a scientific meeting and usually discusses a work. Generally, the workshop begins with a presentation about a work or how to produce a work by the presenter, then continues with activities to produce works. The purpose of this workshop is to produce products or works, such as learning models, research proposals, and so on.

4. Discussion

Based on the term, the meaning of discussion is exchanging ideas about a problem, in order to understand, find the factors causing the problem, and find a solution. Usually the discussion can be carried out by hundreds, tens, or only 2-3 people. In other words, discussion is the process of exchanging opinions, information, and experiences on a regular basis and aims to gain a more detailed understanding, be more thorough about something or complete and prepare conclusions.

5. Meeting

Meetings are a form of means of communication in groups and officially face-to-face, and are usually held by various organizations, both government and private organizations.

6. Conference

Conference is a meeting or meeting to exchange opinions or negotiate on an issue to be faced together. Business meetings or conferences are usually meetings to discuss business issues. Meanwhile, a press conference is an announcement for the press followed by a question and answer session regarding certain matters contained in the announcement.
